Introduction

To begin roleplaying, you'll first need to create a character. Unlike traditional tabletop gaming, this forum functions with an overall simplistic system of free-form roleplay. The actions of your characters and others will depend mostly on what is written within posts. While descriptiveness is a virtue, you don't have to be a great writer to get by. As long as your posts are comprehensible, then you'll do just fine.

Basics on character creation can be found on another topic.

Rules

There are three rules that need to be followed during the course of your roleplays:

  • No Metagaming
Metagaming is an "out of character" action where a player's character makes use of knowledge that the player is aware of but that the character is not meant to be aware of. In other words, your characters will only know information that is common knowledge, information that fits with their backstory, or information that they come into first-hand or second-hand through RP. If you're told something OOCly, you cannot use it ICly.
  • No Power-RPing
Power-Rping is the act of creating or using a character that is so blatantly over-powered that it outclasses all other characters. Simply be reasonable, and don't do this.
  • No Autoing
Autoing is when you force an attack to hit another player. This forum works off of a consent rule. You cannot do anything to another player without their permission. It doesn't have to be expressed, but they have the right to avoid/block/or outright deny any act against them. Acting as if one of your actions automatically effects another player is called "Autoing" and it isn't allowed. On that note, refusing to let any attack hit you beyond reason can be classified as Power-Rping, so just be sensible.
