Re: Market District: The Merchants Inn
"Anyone with healing magic want to help out a bit?" As the argonian took a swig of a potion to speed the effects of healing magic.

Gillis laughed at the reptile as he sheathed his sword. "Haling magic, I don't think anyone is trained in that school of magic".

Morwenna flourished her blade around her, whipping away a majority of the leftover blood and guts from the weapon before taking a few steps into Silvan's direction.
"You okay?" she pondered, resting a hand on his shoulder as he held his knees and took a few breaths. "Seems like you certainly had the worst thing to deal with." chuckling lightheartedly, she looked over the rest of the group, seemingly a little more battered than before, minus the Archer, who always seemed to be on top of his game.
She glanced at the open door for a moment, almost tensing as she realized there would be even more to deal with soon. Hearing the argonian's hissing tounge, she whipped back around. "I can 'heal' you, yes. What is your ailment, dark one?"

"splinter in my toe, WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE MY SHOULDER IS COLLAPSED IN?!?!" rather painfully retorted the argonian which was obviously in pain.

Satisfied that all of the remaining targets were slain, Anrion relaxed, if only a little. Letting his axe lower he waited for the group to recover. As this happened, he decided to share his previous thought. Clearing his throat, Anrion spoke up: "These undead were likely put here, it's reasonable to assume that there is some form of sorcerer in this pit."

Richard deemed his wound to be mostly artificial with no actual deep cuts to it. He walked to the group reuniting with his comrade. He remained silent and awaited the rest to depart.

"I'm fine, just--..." Silvan paused, chest still heaving as he fought to catch his breath. "I hate rats." He declared, standing to his full, albeit short, height. He glanced down at the tip of his boots, where the leather was frayed at the rats' gnawing. Shuddering at the thought, the elf proceeded towards the second lever.
He gave it a good look, scratching the top of his head where the red bandana sat. "Well," Silvan sighed, reaching forward and curling his fingers around the lever. "Here's hoping we don't let loose more monster." With a forceful tug, the sound of rumbling within the walls resonated through the room, and the ruins' foundation shook ever-so-slightly. A moment later, the far door finally slid open.
With a sigh of relief, Silvan chuckled and swaggered forward. He stopped beside Richard and nudged him in the side with his elbow. Giving the knight a look, he started laughing again.
"This ruin isn't speculated to be very large. I assume we won't be spending a whole lot more time in here..." Coming to the door's threshold, Silvan peered forward to find a descending staircase. The remaining bandits would have taken refuge here, if anywhere. "If they've escaped this far, then those thugs must be getting close to our treasure. Let's pick up the pace, before all this ends up all being for nothing."
Silvan reloaded his hand-crossbow and placed it back on his hip. "Well, uh... You guys can go first." He said with a smile, gesturing towards the agape door with a flourish of his hand.

Gillis listened to the elf while he stared at the open door. He gave the un-dead a final kick in its side just to be sure it was truly dead and went off into the door way

"Id suggest you fix your tone." she sighed lightly, motioning for the argonian to come forth as her hands became bathed in a blinding white light.
"Elf, do you need anything while i'm in focus?" she looked over her shoulder at Silvan, giving Richard a nod as well.

He rubbed his free hand against the side of his face lightly as he watched the armored pair go first, after a while, he decided to join them and see what lay beyond the metal gate.

Placing his warhammer back on his belt he proceed to grab his claymore that he dropped. Leaning the claymore on his shoulder he started to walk to the opened door. Giving Morwenna a small shake of head, it was merely a flesh wound nothing to sweat for. There was no time to waste, he feared his loot would be gone the more they prolonged this little adventure.

"Many Thanks paladin, your talents of the light are definitely good." said the scaled one. Having gained her composure, she started stretching her shoulder out and pulled out her bow to help with the process. "We should keep moving. I highly doubt that those were the last of the lot." said Salmystra to the party.

Re: Market District: The Merchants Inn
"I need no tending to. The pain goes away once the fight starts anyway." Silvan said, waving the paladin's service off. Despite his words, he looked down to his arms, legs, and ribs; where the clothing was rended and bloodied. Such injuries could wait. Afterall, he didn't want to rely on the mercenaries he'd hired.
After wounds were tended to and the party regrouped, they began their descent into the door and down the stairs into the Ruin's inner sanctum. No doubt the leader of the bandits and his remaining garrison would lie within.
Small, glowing, azure veins of mana stretched across the walls and ceiling of the stairwell - providing a small amount of light to the otherwise pitch-black tunnel. "For how old these things are, it's amazing that the traps are still functioning. Y'know... If that kinda stuff interests you..." Silvan mused, brushing a dirtied palm against the stone wall as he continued forth.
"Speaking of traps, the bandits aren't our only worry. Watch out for any odd-looking tiles in the floor, or wide open area. Also switches, apparently. And spikes. And guillotines. And-- you get the picture, right? Don't go dying for nothing." He said with a strangely lighthearted chuckle.
The unusually long passage ended with another doorway - this one ajar - that spilled light into the dimly blue-lit stairwell. "Careful!" Silvan whispered, slowing his pace.

Salmystra kept near the back of the party bow half drawn in constant awareness of her surroundings allowing the paranoia of her possibly booby-trapped corridor make her on edge.

Re: Market District: The Merchants Inn
As none of the group followed along, Morwenna and the other two slowed to a slow walk as they reached the light at the end of the road, so to speak. Her blade nearly scrapped against the wall as the hallway wasn't necessarily the widest pathway they'd journeyed through.
Stumbling a bit as Silvan changed pace before her, she readjusted after a moment. "Do you see anything?" she whispered back to him. "Where are the others? This certainly isn't the time for games." she sighed, only noticing the Argonian behind her skulking along.

Richard looked over his shoulder giving Silvan a small nod. His hand held tightly on his claymore trying not to make any unnecessary noise. He kept a small advance from the group making him the pointman and making sure if any ambush or trap would spring he would be the first to respond. He awaited any monstrosity the next room could spit to them.

Though the pathway was narrow and winding, fortunately Anrion had not seen and side passages yet that someone could ambush from. In the same thought, he was concerned about how he might be able to assist if they did decide to attack in one of the more narrow passages.

Re: Market District: The Merchants Inn
"Nothing yet... And they're nearby I'm sure." He said, just as the rest of the party stopped lagging behind and overtook them - moving to the front.
The passageway opened up to a large room, with a myriad of torch sconces hanging from the ceiling by chains. A pale blue flame danced from them, bathing the ruins in the same azure glow that the previous corridor was filled with.
Standing in the center of the room, on the right-hand side, and on the left-hand side, were each an archer with a shield-bearing bandit kneeling in front of them. The archers had their bows drawn, and the points of their arrows trained on the hallways entrance - directly at the party. Behind the three pairs of two, stood a seventh bandit - a mage of some sort (DANNY THIS IS YOU. ARE YOU READING THE POSTS NOW? THIS IS YOU. OK?)
"Armored folks first..." Silvan said, backing up through the hall to let him unarmored self stand at the very back of the lot.
Without any further discussion, the three archers all fired simultaneously!
Archer 1 fired an arrow at Richard's throat.
Archer 2 fired an arrow at Morwenna's chest.
Archer 3 fired an arrow at Gillis's knee.
Shieldman 1 aimed the point of his sword over his poised shield, and fired an arc of lightning at the same three armored men and women, the electricity intent to channel through one and into the next, arcing through the trio.
Shieldman 2 flung a fireball from his waraxe over the three and deeper into the tunnel, where it connected with the ground and sent a torrent of flame through both sides of the hallway; flames washing towards the trapped Salmystra, Anrion, and Silvan.
Shieldman 3 smashed his mace into the ground, and covered the stone flooring infront of the party in a thin layer of movement inhibiting ice. Certainly those with armored sabatons, or boots meant for outdoors would stand no chance keeping their footing on such treacherous terrain.

Re: Market District: The Merchants Inn
The arrow flew through the air, for an instance he thought of ducking but quickly realized there was a group behind him, lifting his arms to cover his throat. The arrow from the long bow pierced his armguard entering his flesh. The arrow squeezed in between the Radius and Ulna bone of the forearm and piercing out on the other end of his arm the head of the arrow nearly touched his throat.
Not having a moment of break, he received a channeled lighting from the Shieldman , the lightning flowing through his muscle and body for the second time today. He would soon became the conduit for the lightning at the spread to the two near other armored clad. This was only for a short moment as he launch of, taking a chance with the ice, charged forward. Clenching his teeth he tried to fight off the pain of multiple volts of electricity.
His Claymore rested on his shoulder, winding up for a downward slash, as he charged his left arm which contained the arrow remained in a resting position he did not want to use an injured arm until he needed.

Re: Market District: The Merchants Inn
As the trio of arrows flew towards the group, her gaze shifted as the one struck Richard, and she hadn't given the other two care as one pierced through the metal of her armor and buried itself in the flesh of her lower chest. Groaning, she felt it burrow deeper, wedging between two of her ribs as it failed to puncture the opposite end of the chestplate.
Falling to one knee as she caught the lightning hitting his as well, the arc flew overhead, down her spine, then right into Gillis' direction. As she staggered back to her feet, she reared an arm back, conjuring a spear of lightning in her grasp, and hurling it towards the middle most archer who'd injured her, knowing it would hit either of the two in the vicinity. "We need to rush them!" she hollered, raising her blade back from it's almost 'cane-like' stance as it held her weight up.

Re: Market District: The Merchants Inn
Gillis decided to ignore the arrow the flying towards his knee and focus on the lightning that had just traveled through Morwenna and was heading towards him quickly. He raised his left hand and attempted to absorb the lightning but as the arrow thumped into his upper thigh he lost focus momentarily. The lightning struck and Gillis hissed from the pain of both but was able to contain lighting within him and dispel it. He shuddered from the pain of it but managed to stay standing upright.

As the fire erupted from the walls Anrion acted on reflex. Turning about, he threw himself against the Argonian behind him with the intention to knock them out of harm's way faster. His armor would take a hit, but that's what armor was for.

Griswald opened his eyes as the battle started and he drew from the hate in his heart and sent a fireball, straight towards the paladin. He quickly side stepped and hoped that it would lane on his mark. Griswald scanned the area to check his sorrounding, trying to anticipate which ally would get hurt first. Griswald shouted out "Don't let these Mercenaries break through the front line. Archers land your marks."
